Cuban freestyle wrestlers Reineri Andreu (57 kg) and Reineri Salas (125 kg) will compete in the Dmitry Korkin Senior international tournament, to be held in Yakutsk, Russia, from October 26-30.

Martín Torres, national wrestling commissioner, said that before that contest Andreu and Salas will hold a training base in that nation.

Both participated last September in the World Championship of that sport, held in Belgrade, Serbia. Andreu was close to getting on the podium.

In Serbia, the Sancti Spiritus fighter, world monarch of the under 23 category in Budapest, Hungary, three years ago, fell 1-7 in the bronze discussion against the local Stevan Andria Micic, silver medalist at the 2019 European Games.

He had previously won both of his repechage bouts, which gave him the option to fight for one of the bronze metals in his division.

Salas, bronze medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 97 kg, debuted with a 2-4 setback against the Canadian Amarveer Dhesi in the qualifying phase, so he could not advance in the tournament.
