Cuban who arrives in the United States with humanitarian parole tells step by step how it was

CDMX, Mexico.- Less than 48 hours in US territory, the Cuban Yanelis Benitez He spoke with the journalist Mario Pentón and detailed how the process was that allowed his arrival in the United States.

The Cuban traveled with her young daughter to meet her husband and her eldest daughter, who were her sponsors.

The first question the journalist asked was related to the vaccination requirements. Regarding this, he revealed that they did not require him to show any immunization card, not even for COVID-19. He only had to mark on the application that he had already been vaccinated.

Connected users asked Benítez about the interview with the immigration officer, once they arrived in the United States. She assured that the process was not complicated at all, although it was long. It took approximately three hours.

“Yes it was long, because they have to do a series of documentation that takes a certain amount of time. But in reality they only asked me two questions: the address where I was going to stay, that even as I was nervous I forgot my daughter’s address and they gave me the option of calling her on the phone and she told me. And the second, if my other daughter, the little one who entered with me, was my daughter, ”she explained.

In that interview they took his fingerprints, photos and he had to fill out documentation.

The beneficiary recommended that they not change the language of the application, but rather do it in English, since in her experience the date format produced errors.

“When I put it in Spanish, you know the date changes it and in English it is month, day, year. So it would give me an error, and when I put it in English it was much easier for me to fill it out like this, and I left it like that,” she said.

Pentón for his part added that with the parole the work permit can be processed immediately.

The parole is a kind of small cardboard that is attached to a page in the passport. She brought with her the entry permit printed, and there she also stamped the parole.

Yanelis barely took four days between the date she started her process and the date she received the travel permit. This came to the email account of the application.

“This is real. Do it, don’t miss the opportunity” was the message that the Cuban left her compatriots.
