The Cuban preselection for the World Weightlifting Championship, to be held in Colombia from December 5 to 16, continued its preparation.
According to the Cuban Federation of Weightlifting, in the “Manuel Suárez Fernández” gymnasium, of the Cerro Pelado High-Performance Athlete Training School, the discussion of the training plans was held.
The Colombian Weightlifting Federation announced on its official website the fulfillment of the requirements for the world event, conditions ratified in the technical visit of the IWF to Bogotá at the end of September.

Four hotel facilities will accommodate the delegations of 110 national federations. Duly regulated training and tournament areas will be available.
Each country was able to enter 20 weightlifters of each gender, but the final number of athletes can only go up to 10 (plus two reserve) per gender.
Cuba’s last outstanding results in a world weightlifting competition were Ludia Montero’s two silver medals in the 45-kilogram bodyweight category in 2019 in Pattaya, Thailand.
