The donation, which will be dedicated to the “development of this sport at the base and the preparation of elite teams”, is made up of two synthetic surfaces of the Sport Court brand, each worth 350 thousand dollars, as well as implements and props necessary for the practice of volleyball, informs the website Hit.

Among the latter are 500 balls, antennas, nets and balloon cars, details the sports publication, which considers the aid as “a recognition of the country’s new results since it undoubtedly identifies volleyball in the region.”

In addition, he points out that the donation also “obeys Cuba’s perennial willingness to organize international events and is part of Norceca’s actions to support national federations.”

“From the new vision of the FCV, due to the changes and transformations of the sport worldwide, the strategy plans to exploit all the possibilities offered by the different international collaboration projects that are established in the Norceca and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB )”, he pointed out.

The director commented that the presence of members of the Cuban Federation in different international positions “allows first-hand to be able to manage and resolve these material insufficiencies.”

He also assured that in the recent FIVB congress coordination was carried out to include Cuba in an empowerment plan with the aim of training and acquiring new technology. As part of these efforts, the arrival is expected next year, in February, of a second container to “continue to cover needs.”

At the same time, Sainz confirmed the upcoming participation of three Cuban coaches in a first-level course in the Dominican Republic and announced that, thanks to negotiations with the Volleyball Development Center in Santo Domingo, a learning course will be offered in February 2023. at that same level for 30 Cuban technicians under 30 years of age, “which will allow them to be categorized and guarantee the development of the reserve.”

These courses will be a preliminary step to go through levels two and three, with the intention of “converting Cuba into a fully literate country from the technical point of view, in line with the current requirements of the FIVB,” he concluded.
