MADRID, Spain.- The Cuba Team of soccer will play a friendly match against the Uruguayan team on June 20. The clash, which will be played at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, will be part of the preparation games for the CONCAFAC Gold Cup, to be held in the United States from June 26 to July 16, 2023.

The game will serve as the official presentation of the new Uruguay coach, Marcelo Bielsa.
For the Gold Cup, the Cuban squad, led by Pablo Elier Sánchez, will not be able to count on two of its regulars: midfielder Karel Espino and playmaker Dairon Reyes. To date, the footballers will not have recovered from the severe injuries suffered recently.
In the 2023 Gold Cup, Team Cuba will compete in Group D, also made up of Canada, Guatemala and the winner of preliminary 7 (Trinidad and Tobago, Guadeloupe, Grenada or Guyana).
The first match of the Caribbean will be against Guatemala on June 27 at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 1st July they will meet Preliminary 7 at the BBVA Compass Stadium and on the 4th they will play against the Canadian team, in the same stadium.
