According to the Cuban radio station Radio Enciclopedia, the Cuban cinema club Calle 23, in Paris, from the schoolswill screen this month a sample of short films from the island presented and released last January during the Clermont-Ferrand International Festival, the second largest in France after Cannes.
The cultural attaché of the French Embassy, Solen Rouillard, said that the audiovisuals are of recent production and of different genres and formats.
One night a month, the cinema schools invites you to discover the history and current events of Cuba by screening feature films and short films, fiction films and documentaries.
The organizers assure that this initiative will allow to see or review classics, and discover new voices of Cuban cinematography. Each projection will be presented by the director of the film in question or by a specialist in Cuban cinema.
The organization of the exhibition has been possible thanks to the FSPI (Solidarity Fund for Innovative Projects), a support for new cinemas and the Cuban film industry presented by the French embassy in Cuba.
