cubano, desaparecido

Madrid Spain.- For more than a month, the relatives of Cuban Francisco González, 63, have not heard from him. Known as Guayabera and resident in the municipality of Guanajay, in Artemisa, he was last seen on July 17, his family confirmed to Cuban newspaper.

“When we noticed the absence of my grandfather, he was going to the house where he used to live, located at Km 1 of the Jobo highway, in Guanajay. He was last seen in a place called Cuatro Caminos, and he was wearing beige pants and a black T-shirt, ”said his granddaughter Mayvelín Curbelo Balseiro.

According to his statements to the aforementioned media outlet, “the Police have put photos in the places he visited, such as Caimito and Bauta.”

“On one occasion, the Search Section received notice that my grandfather was in the Artemisa Hospital, but when they went, it was not him,” he added.

The young woman said that “the whole family is desperate” and offered the telephone numbers 54216271, 54035796 and 53479469, in case someone obtains any information.

In recent years, disappearances, murders, and femicides have become frequent in Cuba, events that are rarely addressed by the state press on the island.

At the end of last July, the body of Lázaro Toca Núñez, an 86-year-old Cuban who lived in the province of Havana and had been missing for a month, was found.

At the beginning of July, the Cuban Ministry of the Interior (MININT) confirmed the death of Sancti Spiritus professor Santiago Morgado, whose murder had been previously reported by independent media and through users on social networks.

Days before, on June 26, the 22-year-old Claudia Montes was found dead after 14 days missing. The victim lived in the province of Matanzas.

Recently CubaNet spoke with Isis Ameneiro Rodríguez, mother of the adolescent Maydeleisis Rosales, who has been missing for more than a year.

“She must be fine. Youth is like that, maybe she fell in love and she doesn’t want to turn around, ”says Isis that the PNR agents involved in the case told her. She also insinuated that the girl did not want to return because she was mistreated in her house or because they were very poor.

Today the new speculation about the fate of her daughter is that “she is pregnant and does not want to return out of fear,” says Isis. However, there has not been a single result of the Police investigation, she assures her.
