Cuban regime prevents Pastor to enter the island, despite a humanitarian reason

Alain Toledano, Cuba, Seguridad del Estado

Madrid, Spain.- Cuban pastor Alain Toledano denounced that the Havana regime prevents him from returning to Cuba, even in a deeply personal moment: the death of his cousin Brother Julio César, whom he has not been able to give him the last goodbye. Although he bought a passage to travel to the island, the state security informed him that he would not be allowed to enter the country, said the pastor exclusively for America News .

“I believe that no world government has the right to prevent the citizen from entering, unless it is an X case, that the person is a criminal, has debt to the nation. I do not have any debt with the nation of Cuba, my only problem with the Cuban regime is that I am not a communist,” said Toledano.

Exalized in Miami since July 2022, the shepherd traveled to the United States after receiving an ultimatum of state security, which gave him 30 days to leave the country or face prison. Until then, one of the most numerous independent religious groups on the island had led in Santiago de Cuba, so it was White of reprisals, arrests and threats for years.

“I will never live in Cuba again, but my mother is in Cuba, my older daughters, my grandchildren, my loved ones, the church, the networks we direct are in Cuba,” he explained. “They (the Cuban leaders) for the simple fact of me not to think how they prevent me from entering the country to which I belong, where I was born, where I come from. The most criminal of all this is that they prevent me from being with my family,” he laments.

Toledano said it was his own lawyer in Cuba who informed him that he should not board the plane. “The day before he called me the one who was my lawyer (…) and tells me that the security of the state called him because they had seen my name on the passenger list and told him to call me to tell me not to travel because in the same plane as I was, they were going to return me.”

The control of the Cuban authorities on their movements even arrived at Miami airport. While accompanying a person who was going to fly to the island, he was recognized by the airline staff: “They thought it was I was going to travel (…) One of the young women told her partner: ‘No, he can’t travel’ (…).

In the interview with America News He recalled that the repression of the regime It began to intensify when the church that led grew and began to gain visibility. “When they demolish me for the first time, in 2007, and they take away our house and steal all the goods (…) it was precisely because of the movement that was within the Church, a movement of crowds that put it uncomfortable to the regime. They asked me to close the church. I did not close the church. I continued to preach the gospel and they lashed out at me in that way.”

Toledano also revealed that he was the victim of attempts to attack, including the manipulation of his car’s gums to cause an accident. “Many times the security of the state on the island tried to end with me and with my family loosening the gums of the car,” he denounced.

Now, from the forced exile, the Cuban pastor continues to denounce what qualifies as criminal acts by the regime, which today prevents him from exercising a fundamental right: to fire his loved one in his own land.
