MADRID, Spain.- Cuban announcer and presenter Frank Abel Gómez Bernal, known publicly as Frank Abel, was arrested in the early morning of December 14, 2025 in Oklahoma County, United States, after a traffic stop that led to several charges, according to records county officials.
According to public arrest databases in Oklahoma, Gómez Bernal, 46, was detained around 3:36 a.m. after police officers stopped him for making an improper turn. During a routine document check, authorities verified that the driver had a suspended license and that the vehicle did not have active liability insurance, which resulted in additional charges.
The police file includes a total of four charges: failure to maintain liability insurance, driving with a suspended license, improper turn and obstruction of the official process by resisting an officer. This last charge was added after what happened during the police intervention.
The arrest was publicly confirmed by Destino and Fernan, colleagues and friends of the presenter, during the most recent broadcast of Tolk Destiny podcastbroadcast on YouTube. In the program, both approached the arrest with visible concern and explained that the family was informed of what happened hours after the arrest. According to what they reported, Gómez Bernal’s behavior during the arrest would have been marked by nervousness, without, in their opinion, a violent attitude mediated.
The news has generated concern among people close to the presenter due to the possible immigration consequences of the process. Gómez Bernal has resided in the United States since his departure from Cuba with an official passport in 2022 and, as has been publicly commented, his immigration situation would still be pending regularization, which could aggravate his legal situation in the event of an escalation of the process.
