MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban political prisoner Angélica Garrido presents a cerebrovascular episode, “which leaves her with probabilities of paralysis,” she reported through Twitter the independent journalist Ismary Bacallao.

The reporter also denounced that in the prison “they are not giving him medical care until now.”

As specified to Radio Television Martí Luis Rodríguez Pérez, activist and husband of Angélica Garrido, the young woman “is having the same symptoms that she had before she suffered the stroke that caused her facial paralysis. She is experiencing the same symptoms as a result of the great stress that he is experiencing. This is all as a result of the repression for the letter that she signed with her blood of all the prisoners, there are 10 prisoners who did it ”.

“She has purple hands and feet, one hand with a hot temperature, the other hand cold. Cramps in the hand. The eyelids are droopy. Very tired”, added Rodríguez Pérez.

Angélica Garrido was among the political prisoners who at the end of last February signed with their blood a letter where they demanded that Miguel Díaz-Canel release the protesters from the July 11, 2021 (11J), as requested by Pope Francis.

These women were brought before a disciplinary court.

As a result of the harassment in prison, in mid-2022 Angélica suffered facial paralysis.

Both Angélica and her sister María Cristina Garrido they remain confined in the Mujeres de Occidente prison, in El Guatao, for demonstrating on 11J in Quivicán.

The Cuban regime accuses the Garrido sisters of the alleged crime of attack, presumably for an incident that occurred inside a police car after both were arrested, in the middle of the street, on July 12, 2021.
