MIAMI, United States. – Cuban plastic artists Yulier P. and Alain Rafael Dueñas, through the Instagram account unpapacubano, launched a campaign to claim access to disposable culeros, an indispensable product that barely exists on the Island and is only found, eventually and at exorbitant prices, in stores in MLC or in the informal market.
“Disposable bottoms are essential items for babies from the moment they are born,” justified both artists. “The instability that exists in Cuba in all types of areas does not exclude this type of product, more than necessary for the healthy and comfortable development of infants,” they added.
Both parents also assured that “in recent weeks it has become more difficult, almost impossible, to buy culeros (diapers) on the Island, both in state and private spaces, which has put many parents in crisis who find few options to buy them.
In this context, Yulier P. and Alain Rafael Dueñas devised the campaign that consists of “an alternative humanitarian bridge” that can be carried out thanks to a raffle of works of their creation to obtain funds for the purchase of culeros and their subsequent shipment. To Cuba.
“The raffle will be valid for 15 days, during which the interested party may register with a minimum payment of five dollars in a PayPal account and leave their name and surname in said deposit. After 15 days there will be a raffle and two winners will be selected with two prizes: the first will receive a work on canvas by the artist Yulier P. and the second will receive a photograph by the artist Alain Rafael Dueñas (unpapacubano on social networks), which will be sent to the winners”, specified the organizers of the campaign.
