MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban official journalist Fritz Suárez Silva died this Tuesday, May 23, in Havana. Although he has not revealed the cause of death, sources close to the communicator indicated that he was in the capital receiving specialized care for health complications.
Suárez Silva for years addressed international issues in a space of the National News of Cuban Television, which always concluded with the phrase “Así las cosas”. In this space he showed the conflicts in the world, without mentioning the reality of the Island, equal or worse.
Among those who have shared the news of the death is the communicator from Ciego de Avila Leonel Iparraguirre González.
“The well-known journalist Fritz Suárez Silva, who worked for a long time in the Cuban Television Newscast, died a few hours ago in Havana. Suárez Silva was a native of the Avilanian municipality of Chambas, where he stayed in recent years, until again moving to the country’s capital where he received specialized care. As a journalist he was a recognized professional in international affairs. Relatives confirmed in the last hours the death of Fritz Suárez Silva. Heartfelt condolences to family members, ”wrote Iparraguirre González on his Facebook wall.
The communicator had been away from the media for nearly a decade and forgotten in his native Chambas, municipality of Ciego de Ávila. On this, the Cubans have pointed out that despite having dedicated his career to “reporting” for the regime, he died forgotten by the Castro system.
Fritz Suárez Silva was the father of the also journalist Mary Suarez, who also worked for the ruling party for years, but who now lives in Miami, where she promotes a personal well-being venture called “My way of living”, as she announces herself in their website and their social networks.
