Cuban musician Alex Cuba launches his new album: ‘El swing que yo tengo’

MIAMI, United States. – Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Alex Cuba, based in Smithers, British Columbia, released his ninth album this week under the title The swing that I have as reported by Vancouver Sun.

Alex Cuba, who won a 2022 Grammy Award in the category of Best Latin Pop Album for Mendo, continues to reap success with this new release. The title track and lead single from the album kicks off the seven-track set with a powerful bass line and staccato vocals backed by synchronized beats.

Combining tender ballads and thumping hits, the album sees the artist expanding his sonic range to incorporate electronic elements into his catchy and complex songs.

As always, the recording was made almost entirely by Alex Cuba, including the performance of all instruments and voices. The only duet on the album is the upbeat closing track, Coconut water, which has the collaboration of the Rwandan musician Butera Knowless. Meanwhile, Alex Cuba will embark on a North American tour that includes a performance at the Kay Meek Arts Center in West Vancouver on September 23.

Alex Cuba has achieved great success on the international music scene, with a unique combination of traditional and modern influences. Born as Alexis Puentes in the province of Artemisa, Alex has won several awards grammy, Latin Grammy and Juno throughout his career.
