Madrid, Spain.- The Latin Recording Academy announced on Tuesday night the nominees at the 26th edition of the Latin Grammy, which will be held on November 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The ceremony, which recognizes musical excellence in Latin America, will have 60 categories this year and the incorporation of two new ones: Best Root Song and Best Music for Audiovisual Media.
Cuban music has a leading role with more than ten nominated artists, which reflects its vitality in different genres, from tradition to contemporary jazz and instrumental music.
Gloria Estefan and Camila Guevara, between experience and youth
One of the great international figures, Gloria Estefan, Compete in two key sections: Album of the year and Best traditional tropical album with Rootsan album that honors its Cuban origins. Its presence marks the weight of the consolidated trajectories of artists who have taken the sound of Cuba to global stages.
In the category of Album of the yearamong the strongest rivals for Estefan is the Spanish singer -songwriter Alejandro Sanz.
In contrast, the young Camila Guevara appears in the category Best new artista space reserved for emerging promises that begin to gain visibility in the music industry. Its nomination confirms the generational relief within Cuban music.

The tropical genre, one of the strongest traditions of Cuban music, has several nominated exponents:
