Cuban Foreign Minister criticizes the Nobel Prize for silence in the face of US aggression

The Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, questioned the fact that the Nobel Prize Committee speaks of peace while remaining silent in the face of the aggressions committed by the United States in free and sovereign nations.

“They speak in the name of ‘Peace’, but remain silent in the face of the aggressive actions of the United States against Venezuela and ignore the economic war and the hate campaign against a country that sends doctors, not bombs or marines,” he denounced through his account on the social network X.

He wondered: What would Alfred Nobel say?, after this last award was “promoted by the US Secretary of State, who wildly calls for a military invasion of Venezuela.”

With this latest award, which went to the Venezuelan far-right María Corina Machado, who has called for foreign military intervention against her country and the application of unilateral coercive measures, it is evident that the principles and values of the award have been distorted.

«The Nobel Peace Prize becomes a prize for docile US allies and a loudspeaker against governments that are uncomfortable for them. “It stops being a moral reference and becomes an instrument of soft power,” adds Rodríguez in the post.

He emphasized that if anyone deserves a Nobel Peace Prize, it is the Cuban medical brigades, who have brought health to people outside its borders.

“More than 60 years of US blockade, attacks, state terrorism and internationalist and solidarity cooperation that they try to discredit, when many people and organizations in the world, more than once, have deservedly proposed the Cuban Medical Brigades for the Nobel Peace Prize,” he highlighted.
