Cuban Erick Hernández achieves Guinness record for mastery of the ball with his head

Madrid Spain.- Former Cuban soccer player Erick Hernández achieved another Guinness record by touching the ball with his head 351 times in one minute, thus beating the Mark previous one that corresponded to the Chinese Gao Chong with 341 touches.

The Cuban radio station Radio Reloj, which shared a video of the moment through Twitter, said in this regard: “When the Chinese Gao Chong broke the Guinness record for the most touches of the ball per 1 minute with just his head, he did not know that he was imposing a new challenge on the man who dominated the ball in Cuba, Erick Hernández, who assumed such challenge and overcame it.

After winning the title this Saturday at the Copacabana hotel in the capital, Erick Hernández told the Spanish news agency EFE that it meant a lot to him “because it is a record with a lot of repercussion and quite difficult to beat it by 10 touches”.

Hernández, 55 years old and known as “the dominator”, announced that he will take a break and then start preparing to break another record, that of 10 hours and 9 minutes dominating the ball with his feet alone.

The athlete, who began practicing sports at a very young age in the Havana municipality of Cerro, first ventured into the modality of mastering the ball in 1994, following his brother Douglas Hernández, a precursor of this specialty on the island. For his competitions, he has been prepared by coach Luis Olmasa.

Erick Hernández has two other Guinness records; one for touching the ball 319 times for one minute with his head in 2005 and another in 2009 for connecting the ball with his thighs for one hour and 28 minutes.
