Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra continues scoring in Italy

The famous Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra continued this Wednesday in the 24th place of the mountainous Giro d’Italia Donne. Today the sixth stage of this world cycling classic was played.

The Dutch Marianne Vos, multiple Olympic and world champion in road, track and cyclocross, won today’s stage, about 115 km, from Sarnico to Bergamo, in northern Italy, with five Mountain Grands Prix, called San Pantaleone, at km 16.1, 33.8, 51.5, 69.2 and 86.9 of the route.

Sierra crossed the finish line in 25th place, 38 seconds behind Vos, who clocked 2:58:30 hours, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced on Twitter.

Among the 127 that finished, of 132 that started the test, the Dutch Annemiek Van Vleuten, Olympic and world champion, leader of the UCI ranking and of the team where the Cuban pedals, the Spanish club Movistar Team, finished sixth.

Van Vleuten, who entered with the same group and time as Vos, is still in the overall lead with an accumulated time of 14:50:05.
