Cuban Conflict Observatory reports record of protests and complaints in November

LIMA, Peru – Last November ended in Cuba with a historical record of protests, complaints and civic actions, as revealed this week by the Cuban Conflict Observatory (OCC). But the east of the country after the hurricane was also the most explosive area, where the lack of electricity for up to 20 days generated 14 in-person protests, and the lack of drinking water caused a citizen outcry.

Likewise, the Food-Inflation-Agriculture category accumulated 128 complaints, including videos of hungry or fainting people, complaints about the reduction and delays in the subsidized basic basket and about the high prices of food in alternative markets and in dollars.

Regarding Citizen Insecurity, the OCC compiled 104 protests or complaints, including the murders of 12 Cuban men and women. victims of violence social, criminal or gender.

Also in November, repressive acts totaled 74 and targeted all sectors of society. “During the period, severe accusations, tax requests or sentences continued to be made against opponents, human rights activists or Cubans who protested in the street or on social networks,” the platform warns.

The classifications of Other Social Problems (128 protests and complaints) and Housing (88) were closely interrelated during the penultimate month of 2025.
