MIAMI, United States. — The Cuban regime reported today on the discovery of an abandoned boat north of the Ciego de Avila provincewhich may be claimed by its owner within a period not exceeding 30 days.
A note appeared this Tuesday in official media de la isla indicates that the boat was found on February 1 in the area known as Punta Mangle, in the municipality of Morón.
“The Department of Port Captaincies of the Directorate of Border Guard Troops, of the Ministry of the Interior, reports on the discovery of an abandoned vessel in the maritime limits of our country. In this sense, the Captaincy of the Port of Júcaro reported the discovery of a boat, the 1st. last February, in the area known as Punta Mangle, municipality of Morón, in Ciego de Ávila”.
According to the report, it is a Boston Whaler model speedboat with an outboard motor from the manufacturer Yamaha.
“This naval medium has the following characteristics: speedboat type, Boston Whaler model, without identifying data, blue color, fiberglass hull material, length 4.95 meters, beam 1.90 meters, depth 0.80 meters, it has an 80 HP Yamaha outboard motor”, the information specifies.
The authorities indicated that the owners of the vessel have up to 30 days to claim it, as long as they have the documentation for it.
“Natural or legal persons with rights over the property found, interested in exercising them, must go to the Captaincy of Júcaro, located in Cayo Coco, municipality of Morón, in Ciego de Ávila, in a term that does not exceed 30 calendar days, counted from the publication of this note, for which they must submit the documentation that legally proves ownership or possession of the property found.
Boston Whaler model boats are widely used in the United States by fishermen and professionals linked to activities at sea. However, its stability and load capacity have also led to its being widely used by security and surveillance agencies.
