Cuban beach volleyball duo crowned in NORCECA U-23 tournament

Noslen Díaz and Jorge Luis Alayo make up the first Cuban duo to win the Tournament of the Confederation of North, Central America and the CaribbeanNORCECA Sub-23, from Beach volleyball which takes place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The victory happened this Sunday.

According to report from the specialized portal Hit, the Cubans easily dominated the Costa Ricans Julián Araya and Jhostin Varela with partial scores of 21-15 and 21-12 in 34 minutes.

Noslen and Jorge Luis had a perfect fight since they added five successes in a row; two in group C against teams from Canada and the Dominican Republic, another in the quarterfinals against the Guatemalan jimaguas Yoel and Christofer Guardado, and in the semifinals against the Nicaraguans Cascante and Meneses.

The other Canadian duo of Cameron Chadwick and Tynan Gannett defeated Nicaraguans Jefferson Cascante and Josué Meneses (21-16, 21-15) and won the bronze medal.

The disciples of Francisco Álvarez Cutiño will fulfill another important commitment in Punta Cana next weekend, when the Norceca qualifying tournament for the world championship will take place in Tlaxcala, Mexico, to be held from October 6 to 15.
