The Spanish club Casademont Zaragoza has reached an agreement with the Cuban forward Howard Sant-Roos to form part of the red team in the next season of the Endesa Basketball League, one of the strongest professional circuits in Europe.
Despite having a contract with the Greek Panathinaikos for the 2022-2023 campaign, Sant-Roos (Havana, 1991) was looking for a team after being left out of coach Dejan Radonjic’s plans, and has finally managed to agree with the Aragonese squad, which He has taken into account the versatility of the Antillean when undertaking his signing.
Zaragoza’s coach, Toni Muedra, has considered that technically he is a player who can play various positions, from forward to shooting guard, with a remarkable defensive and athletic capacity, without forgetting his abilities to raise the ball if necessary.

At 2.01 meters tall, Sant-Roos stands out for being a physical forward with a lot of experience in the highest-level European basketball, according to the Zaragoza club in a press release.
With the Czech Nymburk he participated in the Eurocup and the FIBA Europe Cup, and won the Czech league twice, averaging 15 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. The Cuban has also played for CSKA Moscow and Panathinaikos, and played in the Basketball Champions League with AEK Athens.
The signing of Sant-Roos maintains the ties between Cuba and Casademont Zaragoza, as Javier Justiz from Santiago was a member of the team in recent seasons. However, last June the 29-year-old center announced his retirement from active sports due to serious problems with his knee.
