(EFE).- The popular Cuban actress Corina Mestre received this Saturday the 2022 National Theater Award in recognition of her extensive professional career, which also includes her foray into television, radio and cinema.
The jury of the award, which is granted by the National Council of Performing Arts (Cnae), also recognized part of Mestre’s professional career (1954) since graduating with a Bachelor of Performing Arts (1981) from the Higher Institute of Art.
He highlighted his contribution to the Cuban Nueva Trova Movement, and his participation in more than 70 plays, among which Bernarda Alba’s house by Federico Garcia Lorca.
Mestre has been an assistant professor at ISA and has given workshops on directing actors and stage direction at the San Antonio de los Baños International Film School.
He has also recorded novels and dramatized serials such as passion and prejudice, the echo of the stones, among others.

Miguel Dìaz-Canel congratulated the actress on Twitter, who received such a distinction on January 22, on the “Cuban Theater Day.”
