Cuban accused of decapitating his partner in Dallas causes Trump’s response about immigration

Trump held Biden for the permanence of the Cuban in the US and warned that under his mandate “the time of being soft with illegal immigrants is over.”

Madrid, Spain.- The president of the United States, Donald Trump, spoke this weekend about the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old man who was brutally beheaded in Dallas, Texas, by Cuban Yordanis Cobos-Martínez, who remains stopped without the right to bail under charges of capital murder.

In a message released on its social platform, Trump described the defendant as an “illegal from Cuba that he should never have been in our country” and directly accused Joe Biden’s administration of allowing people with criminal history to remain in US territory due to the refusal of the Cuban regime to accept deportations.

“This individual was previously arrested for terrible crimes, including child sexual abuse, car theft and illegal deprivation of liberty, but was released under the incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want to accept such an evil person in his country,” Trump wrote.

The president said that, under his mandate, “the time of being soft with illegal immigrants is over.” He also stressed that his security team – integrated by the Secretary of National Security Kristi Noem, the Attorney General Pam Bondi and the “Tsar of the Border” Tom Homan – is working to “make the United States safe again”.

Trump guaranteed that Cobos-Martínez will be “processed with all the weight of the law and accused of first degree murder.”

The crime has generated a strong media impact due to the cruelty of the facts. According to Dallas Police, after a discussion in the motel Downtown SuitesCobos-Martínez would have attacked Nagamallaiah with a machete in front of the victim’s wife and son. The police part indicates that the deceased’s head was separated from his body and then thrown into a garbage container.

Cobos-Martínez, 37, was in the United States under immigration supervision after being released by the Customs Immigration and Control Service (ICE) in January 2025. As confirmed by the agency itself, its release occurred because at that time there were no deportation flights to Cuba.

The case has been used by Trump as an example of what he considers failures in the immigration system under the Biden administration. He maintains that current policies allow people accused of violent crimes to remain in the country and have promised to strengthen the detention, supervision and deportation mechanisms of undocumented immigrants with criminal records.
