SLP, Mexico.- The Cuban academic Alina Barbara Lopezarrested last April and June and prosecuted for the crime of “attack” for trying to demonstrate publicly with her colleague, the anthropologist Jenny Pantoja, updated this Thursday the details about the cases against her, which she considered a “legal outrage, cynicism and cowardice.”

From her social networks, and in reference to the arbitrary arrests that occurred on April 18 and June 18, the teacher stated that she filed a complaint for the injuries that the regime’s repressors left on her body when they arrested her, but the constitutional violations and The legal loopholes that favor the regime have left it without means to defend itself. The cases have not yet been resolved.

Regarding the apprehension April, she stated that she filed a complaint with the Military Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of “injuries”, “illegal detention” and “revelation of the secret of communications”, against the three officers who beat her and against the patrolman who filmed her with his cell phone. the beatings and the confinement in the police car.

Although Legal Medicine attested that he had subluxation of the proximal phalanx of the left thumb, hematoma due to rupture of fibrils of the supraspinatus muscle, and hematomas on the skin of his hands and legs, the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Matanzas decided to “arrange the file of the complaint because it was not the act constituting a crime.”

“A true work of art of legal outrage, cynicism and cowardice. The alleged crimes do not exist according to Captain Pequeno, a surname very well carried out given his lack of ethical stature and elementary education,” he denounced, and accompanied his text with images of the authorities’ resolution.

With this, the repressors justify that it was not an illegal detention because there was a “transfer order” to give him a “warning.” In addition, they allege that the injuries were self-inflicted by hitting the interior of the car with their hands and shoulder.

Finally, regarding the complaint for “revelation of the secret of communications,” the prosecutor told him that they had not been able to obtain the videos because “they had been lost.”

“They are, in addition to being hitmen, cowards. And so unscrupulous that they dare to say that I ‘violated citizen tranquility’ and that the officers, fulfilling their ‘social mission’, proceeded to ‘reduce me to obedience,’” he declared.

About the detention June, when she and Jenny Pantoja were intercepted, she highlighted that arbitrariness and injustice also prevail and, despite the fact that they were attacked, the police, ironically, accused them of “attack.”

Although – and through the mediation of a defense lawyer – it was modified to a process by “attestation” (a modality for crimes whose sanctioning framework is up to one year of deprivation of liberty and which is resolved in a summary trial), two months later they were informed that It would be an “ordinary process”.

Despite five months having passed since they were educated With the charges, the process has not advanced.

The lawyer requested a medical evaluation of Alina López and to interview María Juantorena, the officer who reported them, but she no longer even belongs to the ranks of the PNR. “She was released or retired, I don’t know the details but the information is totally true.”

The demand that they reach a resolution in their cases has been in vain, as the delays continue.

“Meanwhile, Jenny and I continue under the precautionary measure of house confinement,” both harassed and Pantoja besieged by the Cuban police.
