The team that will represent Cuba in the next World Baseball Classic (WBC, for its acronym in English) will compete against its similar Nicaragua four friendly matches as part of the preparation of both teams towards the tournament.
According to a publication from the Nicaraguan digital portal The 19ththe initial clash of this series will be held on February 18 in the city of Rivas, and three days later it will be repeated in León.

Nicaragua will play a series of four friendly matches against Cuba from February 20 to 23 prior to the World Classic.

The actions will move on February 25 to the city of Masaya, and the closing of these confrontations is scheduled for the 27th with a duel that will take place in Managua.
In addition to the preparation clashes in Pinolero lands, the Cuban team under the orders of Germán Mesa plans to hold a training camp in the Central American nation, report the agency Latin Press (PL).
Several media have echoed the step of the Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation (FCBS), which gave the organizers of the Classic a list of 35 eligible players for the tournament, although the entity has not officially confirmed it.
Some players from the Major Leagues (MLB), so their participation in the fair will depend on the authorization of their respective franchises.
Although these players usually join the team a few days before the start of the tournament, the possibility of seeing the rest of the players against the Nicaraguan team is expected to be a great attraction, which will be under the command of the experienced American manager Dusty Baker, a legend in the MLB.
The Cuban team, which closed a notable performance in the last edition with a fourth place, will play this time in group A based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, along with the local representative and those from Canada, Panama and Colombia.
The debut is scheduled for next March 6 with the canal team as the rival on duty.
For its part, Nicaragua was placed in the very strong key D with a seat in the American city of Miami, where it will share the spotlight with the teams from Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, the Netherlands and Israel.
