Cuba will host next November a conference of the Association of States of the Caribbean (AEC) in order to attract donors for cooperation projects and show existing ones, the Cuban government reported Tuesday.
The sixth edition of the ACS International Cooperation Conference —on November 10 and 11— will meet under the premise that “the International cooperation it is a pillar of development between our countries”, assured the first deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ana Teresita González.
González added that the meeting will serve to identify the priority areas in international cooperation and address the existing challenges in the region, such as confronting the climate crisis.

The exchange of goods between Cuba and the regional group is “light”, although the export of services and biopharmaceutical products stand out, González pointed out to EFEwithout offering further details.
The last edition of the conference was attended by representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Chilean Agency for International Development, the European Union and the ALBA Bank, according to the ACS official page.
The ACS, founded in 1994, seeks to work in favor of the sustainable development of its members and its main areas of work are cooperation, disaster risk reduction, the climate crisis, sustainable tourism, economy and trade, education and culture.
Members of this association are Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, El Salvador, Granada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, Suriname, and Venezuela.
