The Ministry of Transport of Cuba (Mitrans) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) signed this Friday in Havana a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of aeronautics civil.
The document was signed in the context of the visit made to the island by Juan Carlos Salazar, ICAO Secretary General, and includes the mutual intentions to develop new cooperation and technical assistance projects with the management of Mitrans and the sponsorship of the organization. international, according to report of the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

On the Cuban side, the agreement was signed by Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, head of Mitrans, who thanked the ICAO executives on behalf of the island’s Government and ratified the will and commitment to support and promote actions that promote safe aviation.
The ACN recalls that in addition to being a founding member, Cuba has been part of its council in five periods, the last one between 2016 and 2019.
As part of the agenda of his visit, the ICAO Secretary General was received by the Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas, visited the Area Navigation Center located in the Cuban capital and held meetings with authorities and specialists in the sector.
