The first vice president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Iris Varela, swore in and officially installed the Venezuela-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group, with the aim of deepening the bilateral agreements that have allowed the strengthening of the areas of health, culture, science, technology, education, sports, among others.
The act was held on Thursday in the Hall of the Shields of the Federal Legislative Palace, where the president of the group, deputy Edgardo Ramírez, highlighted the solidarity role of Cuba towards Venezuela in the last 24 years of the Bolivarian Revolution in the Venezuelan education missions, such as Ribas, Sucre, Robinson and Yo Sí Pod; the health ones, Mision Milagro, Barrio Adentro, Sonrisa and José Gregorio Hernández. He also thanked Cuba for its contributions in sports, science and technology and the vaccines against Covid-19 produced by that country.
He reported that the group will have a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodríguez Barrera, to exchange work agendas.
For his part, the vice president of the instance, deputyJulio Chavezindicated that once the parliamentary group has been sworn in, policies will be developed to strengthen bilateral friendship ties and the exchange of experiences that allow a symbiosis to strengthen the Legislative Power in strict adherence to respect for international law and treaties and conventions, the AN referred. .
Deputy Chávez referred to the progress in the spaces and in the strengthening of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), as well as the integration of the parliamentarians who make up the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP).
He added that they will extend all the lines of agreements in the parliamentary, academic, scientific, economic, cultural spheres and with regard to the integration of these brother peoples.
