The Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, intervened yesterday at the UN General Assembly. In his statement, he refuted the actions of the United States government.
“In the Caribbean Sea, the threat of war with a naval and aerial deployment of an offensive, absolutely unjustified, with missiles and means of landing and assault and nuclear underwater media, is launched today. Ballistic test missiles with nuclear capacity are launched. Eeuu features the pretext of fighting the crime and drug trafficking, legend in which no one in this room believes,” he said.
He also said that they support the “Bolivarian and Chavista government” and the popular-military union, headed by President Nicolás Maduro.
“We repudiate the Monroe doctrine and every attempt of militarization, intervention or imperialist domination in Latin America and the Caribbean”, proclaimed as a peace zone in January 2014, in Havana, with the signing of the heads of state and government of the community of Latin American and Caribbean states.
Lavrov revealed, without naming specific people, which had been told that the United States and Panama are promoting a resolution in the Security Council to combat bandit in Haiti. According to him, they seek approval for the creation of a group that can use unlimited force against gangs.
«If we compare these two processes, […] I do not rule out the possibility that some creative people can think of a mandate of the UN Security Council and then claim that Bandits Haitians hide in Venezuela, ”Lavrov suggested.
“We sympathized with the people and the Government of Venezuela,” he concluded.
