MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban travel agency Cubatur is touring different cities in Argentina this week to promote the island as a tourist destination. The hotel chains Cubanacán, Blue Diamond, Meliá, Valentín and Barceló also participate.
As reported Latin Pressthe caravan will visit Córdoba, Mendoza, Rosario and Buenos Aires, with the aim of “disseminating the Cuba Única advertising identity”.
Among the activities planned during the trip is the participation in the inauguration of the 26th International Tourism Fair of Argentina in the capital’s La Rural exhibition center, which will be attended by 18 representatives of Cuba.
The Minister of Tourism, Janet Ayala, declared to Latin Press: “It is a very important delegation, which denotes the importance we give to the Argentine market, which came to issue 99 thousand visitors in 2017″.
“Right now we are strengthening relationships with retail sales networks to increase the number of travelers from the operation of Aerolineas Argentinas that began in July,” added the owner.
Last week a delegation from the Cuban tourism sector participated in the 43rd edition of the Top Resa trade show for tourism professionals, held in Paris, France.
During the event, the Unique Cuba campaign was also promoted, presented at the FitCuba-2022 International Tourism Fair, in May of this year.
According to the Cuban authorities, “the campaign places the inhabitants of the Antillean nation at the center of the attraction and as an element that distinguishes the destination from others in the Caribbean region.”
Since at the end of 2021 the Minister of Tourism Juan Carlos García Granda reported that no less than two and a half million tourists were expected this year, the Cuban authorities have continued to present Cuba as a “destination” in various regions; between them, Canada, Uruguay, ItalyTurkey, India and Cambodia.
