Cuba has diversified its tourist offer and has established itself as a destination for congresses, fairs, cultural meetings and sports activities, said the island ambassador to Mexico in Mexico, Marcos Rodríguez Costa, at a conference at the diplomatic headquarters.
“Feeling Cuba is to fill with Ale-Gría to know his history, his heritage and the art that springs in the heart of each one. Today, the island bets on tourism of meetings, incentives and cultural activities that create value and strengthen professionalization in the region,” said the diplomat.
He recalled that the island has twice presided over the Federation of Congress Organizing Entities of Latin America (Cocal) and recently hosted the 39th edition of its Congress in Varadero.
Rodríguez Costa stressed that the Cuban infrastructure allows us to carry out high logistics complexity meetings such as the Palace of Conventions, Pabexco-Cuba and the Morro Cabaña complex.
Among the main congresses and events that it will host in the coming months, pedagogy-university, the International Convention of Physical Activity and Sports, the International Fair of Havana-with the strong participation of Mexico-, the Book Fair and the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), stand out.
Congresses and festivals
In the presentation, the Embassy officials detailed the agenda for the coming months. The Minister of Tourism, Xonia Beltrán, listed the International Meeting of Poetic Improvisation Oralitura Havana, the International Festival of Choir Elect Urbanos, Romerías de Mayo and the International Choir Festival of Havana.
Rosa Álvarez Fundichely, Minister of Education, announced the realization of the University 2026 Congress, from February 9 to 13.
Katia Alonso Cañizares, economic and commercial counselor, stressed that the International Fair of Havana will be a key platform to update investment and trade opportunities.
Encounters will also be held around phytosanity, the Habano Festival, Computer, Construction, Food and the Biohabana Fair, in addition to Cubindustria and expocaribe in June.
“Cuba offers a unique experience that combines tourist attractions with culture, science and business opportunities. We are waiting for you to live it,” concluded Ambassador Rodríguez Costa.
