On this occasion, Joel Suárez, from the Martin Luther King Memorial Center; Miriam García Mariño, from the Directorate of Associations of the Ministry of Justice; Teresa Fernández, from the Network of Lesbian and Bisexual Women; Yociel Marrero Báez, from the Foundation Antonio Núñez Jiménez of Nature and Man; and the peasant Jesús Espinosa Perestelo, from the Juan Verdecia Cooperative, from Camajuaní, Villa Clara.
As a guide to the debate, the organizers published a group of questions with the intention that they serve as “point” to the participants. Among them, what is the role of associations in society? What problems affect their existence and functioning? What factors limit their development as spaces for participation? What actions can contribute to raising their role in society? And how to develop a civic culture of associations?
