Cuba is testing a telecare service for people with special needs and physical limitations in two western provinces, according to official media today.
Among the benefits offered by the service, attention, advice, guidance and information stand out, through a help line with specialized personnel 24 hours a day, and face-to-face attention to the user when required.
Designed by him Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) the initiative is implemented in two municipalities of Artemisa and Mayabeque, according to report of Latin Press (PL). Said service will be evaluated in June and will later be extended to other regions of the country.
The project is aimed at managing personalized care for the elderly, people with disabilities, as well as caregivers in a possible situation of psychosocial or physical risk, who live alone permanently or for a large part of the day.
The report, which starts from a note published in the official journal Granmacites the director of Social Prevention of the MTSS, Belkis Delgado, who explained that this service also promotes independence and facilitates the integration of people in their usual living environment, as well as detects, prevents and in some cases intervenes in situations of risk.
This service will be provided, fundamentally, through the MTSS helpline, assigned by the Ministry of Communications.
