Cuba-Brazil relations
The Cooperation between Cuba and Brazilthat already covers health, biotechnology, energy and commerce, It now adds a priority chapter: guaranteeing food on the island, where the prolonged crisis maintains unfit on homes and with serious difficulties in accessing basic products.
Thus, the trade between both nations amounted to 279 million dollars last year, a figure that represents an increase of more than 25 % compared to the previous year, according to the Brazilian embassy in Havana.
In that scenario, questions about the real capacity of this forum persist to translate into immediate solutions.
The dependence on external factors, the lack of agricultural inputs and the structural deterioration of the sector in Cuba raised a scenario where cooperation can relieve, but hardly solve in the short term, the food insecurity that hits the population.
