The Cuban government rejected this Thursday the extension of the Executive Order of the United States (USA) that declares Venezuela as an “unusual and extraordinary threat to the security of your nation.”
Through your account at Twitter social network, The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, pointed out that the extension of the decree only aims to “maintain the unilateral coercive measures” that threaten Venezuelan society.
“We reject the decision of the United States to extend the executive order that alleges that #Venezuela represents a threat to the United States and that serves as a pretext to maintain unilateral coercive measures that affect the well-being of the Venezuelan people,” Rodríguez wrote on the social network.
This Thursday, Venezuela also rejected the extension of the Executive Order, which was Issued in 2015 by then-President Barack Obama.
“From Venezuela we reject the extension of Executive Order 13962 of March 8, 2015, signed by the President of the United States, which gives continuity to the criminal policy of aggression against our people through the imposition of Unilateral Coercive Measures. ”, said the Minister for Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, accompanied by the statement.
With the renewal of the decree, the United States already adds 929 coercive measures against Venezuela.
It should be remembered that, last September, the National Government and the far-right sector of the opposition – self-denominated Single Platform -, signed the Second Partial Agreement for the Social Protection of the Venezuelan People.
In this agreement – signed in Mexico -, it was agreed to release three billion dollars – which have been sequestered in the international financial system, after the sanctions-; in order to meet the needs of the people.
