Cuba reaffirmed at the II Diplomacy Forum in Antalya, in Turkey, its commitment to peace, justice, development, well-being and respect for human rights, a senior official from the Caribbean country said today.
Anayansi Rodríguez, Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in a message posted on Twitter that in her presentations during the event she also condemned unilateral coercive measures against developing countries, which violate international law.
The diplomat participated last Saturday in the Round Table “Recodifying Diplomacy”, as well as in the panel “A vision for the development of Africa”, within the framework of the forum that began on Friday and ends this Sunday.
As part of his activities, Rodríguez held a meeting with Turkey’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sedat Onal, as well as contacts with other high-ranking officials of this country, where interest in strengthening bilateral relations was evident.
In his meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Culture of Turkey, Mehemt Nury Ersoy, both parties discussed the potential and opportunities for investment and business between the two countries.
The II Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which is taking place until today at the NEST Exhibition and Congress Center in this Mediterranean tourist city, brought together participants from 75 countries, including 17 heads of state and government, 80 ministers, as well as representatives of 39 international organizations.
Under the general theme “Recoding diplomacy”, other topics such as energy security, the fight against racism and discrimination, irregular migration, regional security, climate change and the empowerment of women were addressed.
