Cuba ratifies solidarity with Venezuela in the face of imperial threats

A highly relevant event took place in Havana – Cuba, which was chaired by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, where through a concentration of hundreds of Cubans they ratified their support and solidarity with the Venezuelan people and the head of State, Nicolás Maduro, in the face of threats and imperial submission by the United States.

The ceremony was also attended by various national authorities, in which the first vice president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, also made an appearance for Venezuela, who highlighted the words of the Liberator and Commander Hugo Chávez, expressing: “I bring in my voice the echo of the Liberator and Commander Hugo Chávez, a fraternal hug and infinite gratitude for this people. Cuba and Venezuela are “sister nations that represent the heritage of the struggle for liberation and independence.”

With this message he underlined the fraternal relationship between both nations, which have faced similar challenges.

He emphasized that both Cuba and Venezuela are countries of peace, whose communities and governments have been victims of US hegemony.

“From this platform we join the call to end the claims of xenophobia and the persecution against Venezuelans and other migrants,” he added, reaffirming his commitment to the defense of human rights.

In that order of ideas, he highlighted the importance of unity in Latin America and added that Venezuela and Cuba will continue to promote Latin American and Caribbean unity and integration “because we are not their backyard, we are sovereign and independent republics willing to give our lives in defense of our people if necessary.”

For his part, the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, presented Infante with the first book that contains more than 4,000,000 signatures for the Cuban government’s declaration in support of Venezuela.

“In each signature there is the heartbeat of a people that does not give up, the signatures of Martí’s heirs. This wave of names and united wills is a vibrant demonstration of the Fidelista maxim that for Venezuela we will have to give everything,” said Díaz Canel.

Finally, the organizational secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Roberto Morales, also addressed those present, stating: “Today we not only defend your right to self-determination, but the dignity of America.”

“Whoever messes with Venezuela, messes with Cuba, we are a single trench and a single heart in two towns,” he stated at the same time that he expressed the support of the Cuban nation towards the Homeland of Bolívar that was reaffirmed by Commander Fidel Castro.

In reference to the Nobel Peace Prize that was awarded to the extremist opponent, María Corina Machado, Morales Ojeda classified such mention as a discredited award, since he considers that the award congratulates traitors, who attack the lives of citizens and ask for military interventions from their nation in cooperation with empires.

This act becomes a symbol of mutual support in difficult times, reaffirming that Cuba feels the struggle and victories of the Venezuelan people as its own. Through this event, Cuba reiterates its unwavering commitment to Venezuela, reaffirming that in times of adversity, the Caribbean country is not alone.
