Cuba is preparing a virtual vaccination card against Covid-19 that certifies the immunization process of each citizen and can be carried by them on their mobile devices, official sources reported today.
During the usual meeting of the Temporary Working Group to confront the pandemic, the head of Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, explained that the digital document will be available starting this Monday, February 14, when it will be launched.
According to the Presidency’s website, it is a test service during its initial stage and users can find more information on the official portals of the Ministry of Public Health.
The digitalization of the immunization process already covers around 80 percent of the vaccinated population with the complete schedule, so citizens will be able to download the document to their cell phones or print them.
Portal Miranda reported that people who cannot access their certificate, because it is not yet ready due to some delays that accumulate in various territories, should go to their health area to request its digitization.
At another point in the meeting, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero interacted with political and government authorities from all the country’s provinces, who reported on the epidemiological situation in their territories.
Official data shows that more than 88 percent of the population in Cuba (nine million 839 thousand 682) completed the full anti-Covid-19 vaccination schedule.
