Cuba remains in contact with Poland to identify 35 citizens of the island who are on the border between that country and Belarus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex) reported today.
According to the director of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad of the Foreign Ministry, Ernesto Soberón, the diplomatic legation in that Eastern European nation will maintain exchanges with local authorities to obtain the requested information on the situation of these people.
Recently, the Minrex indicated that it closely follows the arrival of Cuban citizens to Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary, from Ukraine, with whom it maintains communication.
He also ratified that the Cuban diplomatic missions will provide information and consular attention to those who require it.
According to that source, more than 250 citizens of the island returned from Russia after the start of that nation’s military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
The Cuban consulate in that Eurasian country remains in contact with our nationals there, in order to provide the necessary assistance and support the efforts for their return to Cuba, Soberón detailed on his Twitter profile.
