Cuba identified five new infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus this Thursday, all contacts of confirmed cases.
According to him daily part of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) were registered from four provinces: Matanzas, Villa Clara, Camagüey and Holguín.
The Minsap detailed that 1,673 samples were processed and that, by age ranges, four of the patients were under 20 years old and one was over 60.
In total, 68 people were hospitalized for COVID-19 as of midnight Thursday; 44 were only suspected of having acquired the disease, while 24 were confirmed active cases.
Medical discharges totaled eight.

The health authorities also did not report bedridden in intensive care this day, while the fatalities due to this pandemic remain at 8,530. The lethality is 0.77% in Cuba.
