One of the main activities announced by the organizers is the concert From Montreux to Havana, which will bring together the Cuban musicians who won the competitions at the Montreaux Jazz Festival (Switzerland): Harold López-Nussa, Rolando Luna and Jorge Luis Pacheco (piano), Yilian Cañizares (violin, voice) and Héctor Quintana (guitar).

Another show will be offered by the Cuban pianist Ignacio ‘Nachito’ Herrera, who has been rehearsing since mid-December with the National Symphony Orchestra of Havana, under the direction of Igor Corcuera, according to the event page on social networks.

The musical theme that accompanies the iconic jazz event will be La Rumba me llama, composed by pianist Roberto Fonseca, artistic director of the Festival.

Since 1980, the International Jazz Plaza Festival has been held in Cuba, which became international in 1983, and one of the most relevant music events in Cuba.

Over the last forty years it has had the participation of prominent international exponents of the genre, such as the American Dizzy Gillespie, the Frenchman Michel Legrand, the multi-award-winning Mexican pianist Arturo O’Farrill and the Brazilian Tania María.
