“The indispensable Latin American and Caribbean integration unites us and convenes the VII Summit of #CELAC in Argentina,” he added.
The VII Celac Summit will be held this Tuesday in Buenos Aires with the presence of representatives of the 33 member countries, including Brazil, which rejoined the mechanism after leaving in 2020 under the Administration of Jair Bolsonaro.
The opening, around 10:30 a.m. (1:30 p.m. GMT), was given by the Argentine president, Alberto Fernández, host of the meeting as the country that exercises the pro tempore presidency of the regional forum.
For his part, the Argentine Foreign Minister, Santiago Cafiero, read the management report before the presidents.
The dialogue between heads of state and government will take place behind closed doors and will only be interrupted by lunch and bilateral meetings.
At the end of the day, around 5:00 p.m. (20:00 GMT), the Summit declaration will be published, which is expected to address issues such as climate change, gender, infrastructure, indigenous languages, energy integration, food security , among others. There will be a press conference.

“The Buenos Aires declaration has 100 points of consensus and 11 special declarations. It is the fruit of dialogue and respect. It is the most vivid practice of solidarity multilateralism ”, according to the Argentine foreign minister during his intervention, summarized on Twitter.
The change of Argentina’s pro tempore presidency to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will also be discussed at this summit, a candidacy that still does not have the consensus of the forum.
