The Government of Cuba condemned this Saturday the US and Israeli attacks against Iran and called on the international community and the UN Security Council to stop this “irresponsible and deliberate aggression.”
Through a official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), the Cuban Government denounced that the recent attacks “flagrantly” violate the UN Charter and International Law, by breaking the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the attacks perpetrated (…) that boycott, for the second time, the efforts of international diplomacy in relation to the nuclear issue,” the official statement said.
Warning about consequences of US attack on Iran
In his statement, Havana warned about the risk of a new war escalation in the Middle East with “unpredictable consequences” for international peace and security.
He noted that the attacks have caused “an unknown number of civilian victims, including children”and blamed “hegemonic interests” and “intentions of domination through the use of military force.”
“Once again, the United States and Israel threaten and seriously endanger regional and international peace, stability and security,” denounced MINREX.
Cuba also advocated preserving the principle of good neighborliness between Iran and the Arab States, in the midst of what it described as “a delicate moment.”

Call to the Security Council and the UN General Assembly
The Cuban Government insisted that the UN Security Council must urgently assume its primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security, and called on the General Assembly to mobilize the international community in that same sense.
“Strict respect for the principles of International Law and the UN Charter must prevail,” the diplomatic note insisted, specifically mentioning the sovereign equality of States, non-interference in internal affairs and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Regional context and historical positioning of Cuba
This new statement is part of Cuba’s historical position of condemning the use of force and rejecting the unilateral policies of the United States and Israel in the Middle East.
The call from Havana comes at a time of high regional tension, after Washington and Tel Aviv launched new military actions in Iranian territory, in which They assassinated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, supreme leader for 35 years.
More than 200 people were killed in the attacks, according to the Iranian Red Crescent, including at least 85 students at a girls’ primary school in the southern city of Minab.
