With such a performance, the Cuban army concludes in the regional qualifier with a harvest of 16 crowns, a silver medal and a bronze medal, and returns with the 18 possible places to attend the oldest regional multi-sport event on the planet.
This event represents a challenge for the island’s sports movement, which between 1970 and 2014 dominated the medal table, except in the editions of San Salvador 2002 and Mayagüez 2010, when he was absent alleging problems with the security of his delegation, points out this source.
During the Barranquilla 2016 version, the representation of Mexico definitively assaulted the comma of the classification, after winning 132 gold medals, 30 more than those achieved by Cuban athletes.
