Children, youth, adults and the so-called elderly will star in choreographies, giant chess simulcasts and 3×3 inter-neighborhood basketball, soccer and volleyball matches to evoke the date, among other actions.
In addition, in the presentations of the Baseball Series matches, allusion will be made to the creation of the Inder and recognition will be given to those who gave their lives for a superior work in physical culture and sports.
The honorees will receive the Inder 60th Anniversary Commemorative Seal and the work of the most outstanding in the attention to mountain plans and the repair and maintenance of facilities will be recognized.
Likewise, the results of the virtual festivals of gymnastic compositions and of the different competitions organized to support the fight against Covid-19, among other projects, will be announced.
The easternmost of the Cuban provinces, Guantánamo, a model in sports, physical and recreational programs, organized the cultural gala for the 61st anniversary of Inder, at the Guaso theater.
That evening recognized the work of champions, coaches and feats of the sports movement on the island and abroad, which contributed to the individual and social growth of people.
The body was established on February 23, 1961, protected by Law 936 of the Cuban government to manage sports, physical culture and recreation in the national territory.
In its more than 60 years, it has contributed to universalizing education, promoting more options for the mass practice of sport in order to bring health to people and thus turn the country into a power with world-class results.
Among others, the largest of the Antilles has exponents of the stature of former runner Alberto Juantorena, double Olympic champion in Montreal 1976; the former javelin jumper María Caridad Colón, who reigned in Moscow 1980, the wrestler Mijaín López, four-time starter under the five rings, and the high jump world record holder Javier Sotomayor.
