The Cuban Government considers the celebration of the close International fair of tourism Fitcuba 2023 as “essential for the gradual recovery of the industry”, according to statements by Manuel Marrero, Prime Minister of the country.
The event will be held this time in the Morro-Cabaña Historical Park, in Havana, from May 1 to 5, with the purpose of making the destination Cuba visible and contributing to the entry of income to the country.

according to a note published by the official Cubadebate website, so far the presence of more than 570 tour operators, as well as 51 hotel chains and the same number of airlines, had been confirmed at the first face-to-face edition of the conclave in Havana after the COVID-19 pandemic. 19.
The authorities of the sector value these figures as an advantage for the promotion of the tourist attractions of the archipelago and the negotiation of business.
Marrero Cruz said that, as a government policy, after the isolation imposed by the pandemic, holding events, especially international ones, has been prioritized.
He added that in the difficult circumstances that the world and the country are going through, Fitcuba 2023 is very important as part of the recovery process of the tourismand recognized that this is still not going at the speed that is required.
The Head of Government highlighted the holding of the meetings of the G-77 Tourism and Culture Ministers plus China, in the context of the Fair and as part of the Cultural Heritage Congress.
Cuba has set the goal of reaching 3.5 million international tourists in 2023according to its Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, who recognized that the goal is very high, but that despite the “limitations” that the island has, they are working to achieve it.
