We have a deep friendship with the Cuban people that we will continue to consolidate,” said the national president via Twitter.
For his part, the Cuban foreign minister described the friendly meeting and indicated that the regional issues of both nations were on the table in the conversation.
“It is a great satisfaction to return to the Homeland of Bolívar and Chávez, and hold a friendly meeting with President @NicolasMaduro, where we exchanged issues on the bilateral agenda and regional affairs,” Rodríguez declared in a tweet.
The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the historical ties of cooperation between both nations.
Respect, shared solidarity and the signing of win-win agreements have been the premises that have strengthened these relations, which have worked equitably for both peoples.
The peoples of Venezuela and Cuba are an example of permanent resistance against all the aggressions, criminal blockades and unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government.

Recently, the Vice President of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, paid a visit to the island of Cuba, with the same objective of continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Ñáñez then expressed that he considers it a “great pride to set foot on Cuban soil” and to be able to dialogue with the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel. In addition, he thanked the island for its courage and loyalty to the Latin American project shared by both countries, reported Prensa Latina.
Relations between Cuba and Venezuela were forged in 1999 between leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez. In 2000, an agreement was created by both leaders that allowed strategic development in areas such as health, sports, education, culture, research, among others.
