Cuba and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed this Friday joint projects in the field of hydraulic resources and health, during the visit to Havana of Ahmed bin Aqeel Alkhateed, Minister of Tourism of that nation and president of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for Development .
In an official dialogue, this Friday Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his interest in strengthening these economic, commercial and cooperation ties.
Saudi Arabia –represented by its Development Fund– and Cuba are expanding cooperation in the areas of aqueducts, sanitation and storm drainage, said Latin Press.
The authorities of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH) of the island presented this Friday two new cooperation projects to a high-level delegation from that country, one for the supply of water in Jatibonico (Sancti Espíritus) and another for demarcations of La Havana.

In addition, projects that will benefit the provinces of Villa Clara and Camagüey are in the analysis phase, according to the president of INRH, Antonio Rodríguez.
In 2016, the signing of two bilateral agreements between Cuba and the Saudi background for Development for 80 million dollars for the export of products from the Arab country to the island (50 million) and for the financing of infrastructure in the hydraulic sector (29.1 million).
Two years later, the Arab country granted another credit of more than 26 million dollars for the Program for the Rehabilitation and Construction of Social Works of the Office of the Historian of Havana.
Ahmed bin Aqeel Alkhateed, who also met with the Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs and Foreign Investment, Ricardo Cabrisas, celebrated the work of the Cuban doctors who have been providing services in the Arab nation since 2014.
The Caribbean country collaborates with that Persian Gulf country in the primary health care strategy. Cuban specialists have been providing services there since 2014 through the Executive Program for the Provision of Medical Services, signed in 2013.
Since then, more than 600 professionals have collaborated in the kingdom, distributed in 34 cities in 11 Saudi regions. Currently, they have a greater presence in Jizan and Bisha, according to official reports.
