Havana/The governments of Mexico and Cuba agreed on Friday to expand to a third province of the island, Villa Clara, the Sowing Life program, implemented on the island in 2022 through the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID). The agreement, which will give rise to the second phase of the project, was signed by the Executive Director of the AMEXCID, Alejandra del Moral, and by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade, Oscar Pérez-Oliva, during the visit of Del Moral to the country.
According to official figures, the program, which until now is implemented in the western provinces of Mayabeque and Artemisa, benefits 5,000 Cuban peasants, who receive donations from the Mexican agency, as seeds and equipment for the field, in addition to technical support.

In his X account, the president thanked Del Moral the “valuable contributions that Mexico has made to the Cuban people, with cooperation projects whose results she could see.”
In that same social network, the Mexican official reiterated the “commitment to continue expanding cooperation in agriculture, health and renewable energy” with Havana. He also assured, according to the Cuban presidency, that sowing lives, “soon” will be extended to other regions of the island.
Del Moral concluded his three -day visit to Cuba on Friday, after having also met with senior officials of the Ministries of Public Health and Education.
