Companies of Cuba and China They began to produce aspirin jointly, whose recipient will be the Cuban population, according to official sources.
The objective of this production, which takes place in the Asian nation, is to cover the demand of the island in 2026, according to the Biocubafarma Business Group.
The project is based on the transfer of medsol laboratory technology, an entity belonging to Biocubafarma, as well as the use of the company’s infrastructure and logistics, the company HUBEI C&C Biopharmaceutical, located in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
The Cuban part also takes advantage of the facilities of its Chinese partner for access to raw material markets, “which optimizes resources to guarantee the sustainability of the supply of this essential medicine for Cuban patients,” said the state entity of the island.
The aspirin that is made at the Wuhan plant is that of 81 milligrams, a high demand medication for cardiovascular treatments and other conditions.
Its production is accompanied by the regulatory authorities of Cuba and China, which these days evaluate the quality standards of the first lots manufactured.
The intention of Biocubafarma is to produce more than 100 million tablets in a first stage and meet next year the demand of the Ministry of Public Health of the island.
In addition, this collaboration opens the door to the manufacture of other Cuban technology medications in China, not only for the population of the island, but also for use in other countries, authorities highlighted in a Press report.

Genfarma, established in the Asian nation, is the result of an agreement signed in May between the BCF SA company – of the Biocubafarma Cuban group – and the Vietnamese Genfarma Holdings.
